Nose
Musty, funky cinnamon, smoked wood, dark caramel, molasses, nuttiness, peanuts.
Mouthfeel
thinner mouth feel
Palate
LOTS of oak, tannins, char, drying, thinner mouth feel, vanilla, nuttiness, baking spices, smokiness prevails from the nose. Reminds me of a beam product. Actually quite a bit….interesting….
Finish
Finish is medium, spice, oak, nuttiness. Heat lingers on the back of the tongue, non existent down throat and through the chest. Pleasant.
Verdict
A decent cask strength that drinks like a knock-off Bookers/Bakers — oaky and earthy-nutty, but falls flat on complexity with a thin palate. Priced well for an 8yr CS.
